November 16, 2023 — 
On November 5, 2023, St John’s college celebrated four new Honorary Degree Recipients at our Convocation in the Chapel, recognizing these inspiring individuals for their contributions to both the College and the University, as well as the broader community. The 2022/23 Honorary Degree Recipients that we recognized included The Honourable Patricia Bovey, who received the Doctor of Canon Law (honoris causa), Brian Bowman, who also received the Doctor of Canon Law (honoris causa), Vincent Solomon, who received an Honorary Fellowship, and Brenda Cantelo, who received the Fellow’s Recognition Award.

November 10, 2023 — 
After coming from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Tawana came to the University of Manitoba in 2019, where she founded the College's Residence. In settling into a new life in Canada, Tawana felt at home when she walked into the doors of the College. Seeing the space she had in her room, quickly meeting friends in the food hall, and learning the opportunities available at the University, Tawana was excited for what was to come.

November 8, 2023 — 
In coming to UM, Dharmil was excited to start this new adventure in business while doing his first semester online after travelling to Canada during the pandemic. After getting to Canada, Dharmil wasted no time getting involved at UM, where he found council work, extra-circular activities, and a co-op opportunity with the Asper School of Business.   

October 27, 2023 — 
The St John’s college residence is a diverse place filled with students from all over the world. From Malaysia, India, Africa, and other countries worldwide, the students feel at home when they walk into the building.     We caught up with Dean of Residence Matthew Bowman as the college looks to fill available rooms with January 2024 and Summer 2024 students looking for accommodation.    

October 26, 2023 — 
The college is a place for students to meet new people, find community, and amplify their student experience with our membership, including access to our scholarships and bursaries open to all UM students.

October 24, 2023 — 
They've walked across the stage in May or October, and now St John's college celebrates the 2022/23 graduating college members on November 5th, 2023. Over the last year, St John's college has given out $180,000 worth of scholarships and bursaries to students across the University of Manitoba who are members of the college.

October 23, 2023 — 
Every day, our academics work to create a healthy mind, body, and planet, whether it be with their work with families or creative writing as a way to express mindfulness. We recently sat down with Caroline Piotrowski and Peter Jaeger to discuss their experiences creating a healthy mind, body, and planet with their ongoing research.

October 19, 2023 — 
Fellows like Sean, Annette, and Jorg look to join the College as a place to network with other academics, attend lectures, workshops, and other monthly events to further their knowledge and join a small community on the UM campus.

October 11, 2023 — 
She started as a doctoral student in the Faculty of Arts. Dr. Melanie Dennis Unrau has been ranked first for a prestigious Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship.

October 4, 2023 — 
It all started in 1997 with Jordan Miller, a St John's college residence student now published artist showcasing her work to the world.
