June 30, 2023 —  At the beginning of this month, many of us marched in celebration of 2SLGBTQQIA+. Now, in the final week of Pride Month, our peers at the University of Waterloo have experienced a heinous act of violence on their campus. The University of Manitoba extends our deepest sympathies and our solidarity against hate to our colleagues at the University of Waterloo. Our campuses should be places where we peacefully pursue knowledge and seek to benefit others.

Grad students recognized at UM student health research forum : Network News

June 28, 2023 —  Over 130 graduate students from across the province, and representing a variety of health disciplines, presented their research in this year’s poster competition at the Manitoba Student Health Research Forum (MSHRF) as part of the three-day event at the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. “This event is all about the grad students. It provides opportunity for them to present their research, refine their communication skills and be recognized for their achievements through the large suite of awards,” said Dr. Samantha Pauls, assistant professor at the College of Pharmacy and co-chair of the MSHRF.

Faculty of Law Rights Clinic Update: New team members and partnerships : Network News

June 28, 2023 —  This summer, the Rights Clinic at Robson Hall is dedicated to forging partnerships with organizations to advance rights on a broader scale. The Rights Clinic is thrilled to announce a number of additions to the team to support its summer operations and upcoming projects for the fall. Supervising Clinical Instructor Liz McCandless, joins forces with Rights Clinic founder Assistant Professor Brandon Trask, and incoming second-year summer students Lizzie Tough and Maria Garcia Manzano are enthusiastic about raising public awareness regarding rights-related issues.
