Military experience leads to graduate degree in political studies

June 5, 2023 — 
In 2017, Christopher Hunt was living in Brandon, serving several short-term contracts in the Army Reserve and conducting contracted research for Royal Military College when he found himself deployed to Ukraine. This spring, he is graduating with a Master of Arts in Political Studies – a program that has afforded Chris many outstanding opportunities and has allowed him to meet some amazing students, academics and professionals in the field.

Two-Spirit Métis Elder encourages community to choose love and acceptance

June 2, 2023 — 
Two-Spirit Elder Charlotte Nolin is an elder in residence at Ongomiizwin – Indigenous Institute of Health and Healing at the University of Manitoba. She is an Indigenous person of Métis ancestry – Oji-Cree and French – a survivor of the “Sixties Scoop” and a member of the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community. Through her role with the University, Elder Nolin looks to her own journey to help others.

Faculty of Law launches legal research magazine

June 1, 2023 — 
The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce the publication of its Spring 2023 Research Report. This magazine is intended to showcase annually, the impact of legal research done by professors, instructors, graduate and undergraduate students working and studying at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law. This inaugural edition includes work done between 2020 and 2023 to demonstrate the impact of the work of Manitoba legal scholars which continued despite the pandemic.
