Entrepreneurial thinking in teaching and learning

Sparked by his own curiosity, Carl Szczerski, a technician in the Faculty of Science, purchased his first personal 3D printer in 2018. Now, he’s using the technology to support teaching and learning, too.

Instructors invited to attend a Map the System information session Monday, June 19
May 19, 2023 —
Map the System is a global competition out of the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Oxford. Map the System requires participants to use a systems-thinking approach to demonstrate deep understanding of a pressing social or environmental challenge. In doing so, students ultimately uncover levers for change. Last year 16 Canadian post-secondary institutions participated in this global challenge. In 2024, Map the System is coming to the University of Manitoba!

Supporting entrepreneurial dreams for 25 years

The Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship (SCCE) at the Asper School of Business is celebrating 25 years of supporting the entrepreneurial dreams of University of Manitoba students. With 500+ Venture Coach meetings, more than $750,000 in prize money given to student ventures, and with 1250+ students from all over North America having participated in SCCE competitions – there's lots to celebrate.

Asper alum co-founds a one-stop space for mothers to access supports

"When women come together, great things happen, but when moms come together to support each other, brilliance happens. It truly is MomBrilliant," says Catherine David. After completing her Master of Business Administration at the Asper School of Business, Catherine David [BEd/07, MBA/18] and Co-founder Mel Klos began creating MomBrilliant, a one-stop space to educate and support mothers through a network of certified pediatric and parenting practitioners.Â

Stu Clark New Venture Championships welcomes competitors from across North America
March 23, 2022 —
The 2022 New Venture Championships were hosted virtually this past weekend and did not disappoint. This year, the Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship (SCCE) went big. We combined the graduate and undergraduate competitions and expanded the undergraduate event to be open to students from around the world. With this new combination it certainly made for an exciting whirlwind three days of celebrating entrepreneurship and student innovation.
