March 8, 2021 —  Reagan Croy, a first-year occupational therapy student at the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, was taken by surprise when she found out she was named to Honour 150, a list that recognizes people who “stand out for their role in making Manitoba such an amazing province.”

March 8, 2021 —  Wouter Deconinck, Associate Professor of Physics, is the recipient of the 2021 UM Sustainability Award. The award recognizes exceptional and continuous integration of sustainability into teaching, research and engagement activities. Deconinck began teaching at UM less than two years ago, and already he has introduced unique course and program offerings that have engaged students and benefited our campus community.

Manitoba Faculty of Law Teams Shine at Fifth Annual Canadian National Negotiation Competition : Network News

March 6, 2021 —  Over February 26th, 27th and 28th, two University of Manitoba Faculty of Law teams from Robson Hall put in extremely strong performances at the fifth annual Canadian National Negotiation Competition (CNNC).  Against a talented field of the best law student negotiators from across Canada, the team of Braeden Cornick and Amber Harms placed third. The pair of Reanna Blair and Menal Al Fekih received the Honourable Mention for the “Spirit of Negotiation” award.

Applications now open for ‘Ma thèse en 180 secondes’ competition : Network News

March 5, 2021 —  Describing your research concisely in three minutes or less is a great skill to possess. Ma thèse en 180 secondes provides the opportunity to master your elevator pitch in French. Launched in 2012, the French-language communication contest is modeled after the 3MT competition founded by The University of Queensland. This April, students in Manitoba will get the chance to compete for cash prizes, with the winner of the provincial competition advancing to the Canadian final and having a chance to move on to the international contest.
