November 3, 2023 —  In 2013, the Price Faculty of Engineering unveiled a permanent installation, Celebrating Women in Engineering. Ten years later and thousands of female-identifying graduates later, we are thrilled to unveil a new set of six women who continue to excel in their field and contribute to the engineering community in so many ways.

October 6, 2023 —  Over 150 runners assembled at the ruins of the Birtle, Manitoba Residential School on the morning of Saturday, September 30, to honour Residential School Survivors and those who never made it home. The ruins marked the starting line of the Second Annual Reconciliation Run, organized by first-year law student Tréchelle Bunn. Her home community, the Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation, marked the finish line of the half-marathon, officially sanctioned by the Manitoba Runners’ Association

October 4, 2023 —  Manitoba voters have elected the NDP’s Wab Kinew as premier. His election is both a break with recent Manitoba political history and a continuation of the long history of Indigenous involvement in electoral politics in Manitoba.

September 27, 2023 —  A member of the Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation, and an athlete who believes in the power of movement as medicine, UM law student Tréchelle Bunn founded a healing walk in July 2021 which has since grown into the Reconciliation Run, Canada's first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Half Marathon.

March 24, 2023 —  Once upon a time there was a law professor who was beloved by students, colleagues and Faculty of Law alumni alike. His name was Matthew Bernard Nepon, and he was a graduate of the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law, class of 1967. Everyone called him “Butch.” He never had children, but for the past two decades, law students at his alma mater have continued to benefit from his legacy, whether they knew it or not. Now that family members who remember their ‘Uncle Butch’ are getting older, they thought it important to share the story of the extraordinary man behind the Butch Nepon Memorial Bursary.
