July 22, 2021 — 
The James W. Burns Leadership Institute recently welcomed a third cohort of 23 participants representing some 15 disciplines, for the core week of the President’s Student Leadership Program. Students from across the province dove into an intensive week of workshops, seminars, and group work. Participants also got the opportunity to engage with prominent and impactful community and business leaders about their own leadership journey and leading through crisis.

The Asper School of Business welcomes Dr. Suzanne Gagnon, Canada Life Chair in Leadership Education and Director of the James W. Burns Leadership Institute, as the School’s Associate Dean of Professional Graduate Programs and Executive Education.

July 6, 2021 — 
Dr. Bruno Silvestre, Associate Dean, Strategic Partnerships & Administration at the Asper School of Business and Director of the Transport Institute, has been awarded a CN Professorship.

June 23, 2021 — 
Asper School of Business student, Lauren Slegers has been named as the recipient of the 2021 Janice Filmon Leadership Scholarship.

June 22, 2021 — 
The Indigenous Art Committee at the I.H. Asper School of Business is seeking proposals for an art project to be installed on the main floor atrium stairwell in the Drake Building. Two dimensional or low relief work will be considered, including murals with permanent paint or other wall-mounted media.

On National Indigenous Peoples Day, we celebrate the outstanding achievements of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members at the Asper School of Business. It is also important to recognize that our commitment is ongoing, and we still have much work to do.

For new Asper alumni, Shyam Narayan Moorthi, completing his MBA is just one of the many steps in his long-term plan. The next steps for Morthi are to embark the next stage of his career and bring his family to Canada.
