Med students connect ICU patients and families during COVID-19 lockdown

Third-year medical students are working in hospitals around Winnipeg to ensure ICU patients are able to stay in touch with their families while visitor restrictions due to COVID-19 are in place.

UM community rallies behind students in need

A message from UM President & Vice-Chancellor Dr. David Barnard: One of the many tragedies this global pandemic has inflicted upon us is a deepening of the inequality in our communities, including our own student body. Last month, the University established the COVID-19 UM Student Emergency Fund for those students who are struggling financially due to the impacts of the coronavirus.

Medical student using 3D printing skills to make face masks

A second-year Max Rady College of Medicine student is using his 3D printing experience to help a group of physicians develop reusable silicone face masks to be used to protect health-care workers from COVID-19.
