Join friends and fellow Manitobans for this year’s Jack Frost Challenge — a province-wide event organized by the Green Action Centre that takes place from Feb. 5 to 11 and encourages participants to complete 130 collective kms of winter activities.

November 7, 2022 — 
The University of Manitoba has earned a STARS gold rating for a second time in recognition of its sustainability achievements from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). STARS, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) is a transparent, self-reporting framework for post-secondary institutions to measure their sustainability performance. UM’s 2022 STARS report is publicly available on the STARS website.

Waste Reduction Week is back! UM is participating in Waste Reduction Week by hosting a variety of events on campus and sharing helpful tips on Instagram to help you reduce waste at home.

Through my experience at COP26, working at the Office of Sustainability, and through courses during the later years of my undergraduate degree I have been able to determine I want to focus on working with people and communities to solve climate issues.
