On August 1, 2023 Dr. Jan Stewart began her appointment as the new dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Stewart will also hold a position as tenured Professor in the Department of Educational Administration, Foundations and Psychology.

Centering Indigenous values, supporting leadership, building community

The Indigenous Circle of Empowerment (ICE) is a student leadership development program rooted in culture and focused on personal, educational, and professional development, and community engagement. It provides a diverse range of activities, including conversations with esteemed Indigenous leaders, professional development, learning from Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and collaborative team capstone projects.

Physical therapy prof awarded for research on disparity in ACL injury rate between genders

A UM researcher at the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences has been awarded two prizes from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (IMHA) for research published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine in March 2021 on how societal factors affect knee injury in female athletes.
