Research Administration System Changes Advance

Beginning in November 2019, when the Research Administration System (RAS) project kicked off, work began on developing how the project would progress, beginning with the formation of the project team. The project team has continued to work virtually, with only minor impacts to the overall timelines.

A $4-million investment from Canada's COVID-19 Immunity Task Force will launch a national study to investigate the burden of SARS-CoV-2 infection among aging Canadians, a population that has been shown to be at greatest risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19 disease.

According to the Winnipeg Free Press, a Winnipeg grain storage research and product development company that started out in a UM electrical engineering lab has been acquired by AGCO, a U.S.-based multibillion-dollar agricultural equipment company.

CANSSI Prairies: UM and the Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute announce new collaboration

The University of Manitoba Faculty of Science and the Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute (CANSSI) have agreed to collaborate to promote statistical sciences research and training, both in Canada and internationally; to establish a Regional Centre for the Prairie Region: Manitoba, Saskatchewan, NWT and Nunavut (“CANSSI Prairies”).
