One week after International Women’s Day and a month after Black History Month, the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law would like to shine a light on two black, female law students who have achieved success in an area that is a key component of all legal practice — negotiation.

Having provided a high standard of legal education for the past 106 years throughout two world wars, the Great Depression, several epidemics including the 1918 Spanish Flu and the early 20th century’s deadly and debilitating poliovirus, the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law was not easily deterred in its mission when faced with the global COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic this spring.

The Manitoba Bar Association’s Legal Research section recently co-hosted a panel discussion with Robson Hall Faculty of Law’s Career Development Office to inform students of the value of undertaking a Master of Laws degree. Wuraola (Wura) Dasylva [LL.M./’17] would have been a poster child for this event if she weren’t busy working as an Articling Student at the law firm of Miller Thomson in Regina, SK.
