After years of planning, the Asper School of Business has gained senate approval to introduce a concentration in Supply Chain Management (SCM) as part of the Ph.D. in Management program at the Stu Clark Graduate School.

The Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Bruno Silvestre as Dean of the I.H. Asper School of Business. Dr. Silvestre will begin his five-year term starting July 1, 2022.

The Burns Leadership Institute is pleased to announce the fourth cohort of the unique in Canada President’s Student Leadership Program (PSLP) at the University of Manitoba (UM).

What role do regional governments play in the creation of new businesses? Many have investigated this question, but their answers are largely applicable only to developed economies. Focusing in on developing economies, this research takes a more holistic approach to empirical studies finding that when entrepreneurial ecosystem (EE) lens is applied to emerging economies, regional governments play a supportive role in fostering self-sustaining entrepreneurship activities.

Asper assistant professor Dr. Hee Mok Park and co-author, Dr. Joseph Pancras from the University of Connecticut examine the impact on subsequent gambling behaviour in their paper entitled ‘Social and Spatiotemporal Impacts of Casino Jackpot Events’, published in the Marketing Science, a leading journal in the field of marketing research.
