June 16, 2023 —  National Indigenous Peoples Day calls us to celebrate many remarkable accomplishments, amplify Indigenous voices, and foster a future where Indigenous cultures, and aspirations are cherished, protected, and celebrated. It is a collective responsibility to create an inclusive and equitable society that upholds the shared principles of justice, respect, connectedness and unity.

June 15, 2023 —  National Indigenous Peoples Day and National Indigenous History Month celebrate the history, culture, traditions and contributions of First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples across all of Turtle Island.  One of the extraordinary young alumni we are honouring for his contributions and successes is Mihskakwan James Harper, who will receive UM’s Distinguished Alumni Award for Outstanding Young Alumni for 2023.
