Sixteen professors in the UM Rady Faculty of Health Sciences have been awarded a total of nearly $9 million in project grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

Interested students attended presentations on 12 health science graduate programs and spoke with current grad students and faculty members at the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences’ Graduate Studies Open House on Feb. 23 on the Bannatyne campus. The annual open house offers students an in-depth look at master’s and PhD options to help them plan their potential educational and career paths.

A new web-based therapy program developed by a UM team helps patients shift their focus from being locked in an endless battle against pain to accepting it as a “passenger” on their life journey.

A Rady Faculty of Health Sciences researcher might have found a way to predict how a person with early rheumatoid arthritis will respond to treatments based on a sample of their joint lining tissue and the discovery has made Arthritis Society Canada’s Top 10 Research Advances of 2022.

Riverview Health Centre (RHC) and the College of Nursing at the University of Manitoba’s Rady Faculty of Health Sciences have jointly created a new research chair focused on people living in long-term care.

February 27, 2023 — 
There was a three to four per cent relative reduction in preterm births (births before 37 weeks gestation) during the first four months of COVID-19 lockdowns, a global study co-led by UM researchers and published in the journal Nature Human Behaviour found.
