Associates Fellows demonstrate excellence in entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability

Nathan Greidanus has been named the Associates Fellow in Entrepreneurship, Wenxi Pu has been named the Associates Fellow in Innovation, and Raj Manchanda has been named the Associates Fellow in Sustainability. The new Associates Fellows were honoured at a celebration in the Drake Centre last week.

Partnership paving the way for systemic change

More than 2,000 Indigenous youth in Manitoba have already benefited from the University of Manitoba’s innovative partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. Just over two years ago, the $16.1 million partnership set out to transform Indigenous education through initiatives co-created with Indigenous students, communities, governments and organizations, as well as post-secondary institutions across the province.

Recipients of the first SoTL Development Fund announced

Recipients of the SoTL Development Fund received funding to attend the November 23-25 Symposium for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Canmore, Alberta, which brought together faculty, students, educational developers, and administrators to share existing knowledge and developing research in the systemic inquiry of teaching and learning.

Passing the Torch

The Faculty of Law honoured the lives and legacies of alumni and members of the Manitoba legal community at its annual Student Achievement Awards reception November 1, 2023. The Faculty welcomed families and friends of donors and loved ones in whose names awards were established, to meet face-to-face, the students who would be receiving the meaningful support intended to help them complete their degrees.

Update for Winnipeg Transit users
December 8, 2023 —
The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1505 (ATU), the designated representative for transit workers in the City of Winnipeg have accepted their offer from the City. As a result, Winnipeg Transit service will continue with regular schedules and operations.

Banner Administration pages upgrade coming this January 2024

Banner Administration Pages & Aurora Self Service will be upgraded to the latest version from January 5, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. to January 8, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. This upgrade will bring important security enhancements and focus on improving the quality of the Administration Pages & Aurora Self Service. It also includes changes to support the tax year 2022.
