In June 2021, the School of Art Gallery at the University of Manitoba launched its Visiting Curator Program. The Visiting Curator Program was designed to play a vital role in defining contemporary art and its attendant discourses in Western Canada and beyond.

Moving Matter: Between rock and stone is an exhibition about Tyndall limestone, a building material quarried from a 450-million-year-old body of rock.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of University of Manitoba Professor Emeritus Robert Archambeau on April 25, 2022. An internationally acclaimed artist, Professor Archambeau taught ceramics at the University of Manitoba for twenty-three years, from 1968 until retirement in 1991.

The School of Art alongside the School of Art Gallery has launched a limited edition print fundraiser to enhance and support the experience of Indigenous students studying at the School of Art.

Join School of Art Gallery for Kaffeeklatsch. A series centring the voices of an intergenerational cohort of artists, activists, and writers having casual conversations over coffee with guests of their choosing, followed by workshops related to the presenters’ practices.
