Dental clinic to reopen with pandemic safety measures

While the Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry’s undergraduate clinic will look different when it reopens to patients on September 8, the same high-quality care the dental students, and their supervising faculty members, provide will remain the same.

Disruption of all Forms of Racism policy approved

On Tuesday, August 25, 2020, the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences’ Faculty Executive Council (FEC) approved the RFHS Disruption of all Forms of Racism policy, the first anti-racism policy to be passed by any faculty or post-secondary institution in Canada.

B.Sc. (Med.) students pivot research amid pandemic

Medical students in the bachelor of science in medicine (B.Sc. (Med.) program showed great resilience this summer in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the learners had to modify their research or take on a whole new project because of reduced capacity in laboratories and temporary lab closures.

New medical students receive first white coats in adjusted ceremony

First-year medical students from a cross-section of ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds are beginning their journey to becoming doctors when they recite the Physician’s Pledge at this year’s Inaugural Day Exercises and White Coat Ceremony on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at the University of Manitoba’s Bannatyne campus.
