Strategic Initiatives Support Fund projects generate momentum for UM’s strategic mission

The Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) is pleased to announce 35 projects awarded funding, totaling over $2.2 million, through the Strategic Initiatives Support Fund (SISF). As the newly funded projects get underway, many projects from last year’s SISF fund have been completed. Read about three examples of impact from the SISF 2023-2024.

In 2024 UM participated for the first time in Map the System, a systems thinking competition. Unlike hackathons or case competitions where participants work towards a solution, Map the System is focused on deeply understanding a problem using systems thinking.

Law student honours teachers’ passion, knowledge, and sincerity

This year’s STRR reception was held on May 2 with Seth Lozinski (they/them) selected as the Faculty of Law’s Outstanding Student. In turn, Lozinski chose their high school French teacher Ingrid Moehlmann and Assistant Professor Brandon Trask from the Faculty of Law as teachers who had the biggest impact on their education.
