Retirement, while exciting, can bring a mix of emotions. In recognition of the complexities of this life transition, the Office of the Vice-Provost (Academic Affairs), through UM Family Resources, and the help of the Pension Office and Human Resources, has developed a number of resources to support staff and faculty as they navigate the non-financial aspects of retirement.

Applications open for the 2024 Promoting Black Flourishing Fund

The Promoting Black Flourishing Fund supports initiatives led by Black members of the UM Community and Black UM-affiliated groups and organizations that support the objectives of The Scarborough Charter, and advances anti-racism at the University of Manitoba. The fund is currently accepting applications until October 25, 2024.

Help shape UM’s Mental Health and Well-Being Strategy

This spring, UM established a Task Force on Mental Health and Well-Being to examine the current mental health supports available on our campuses and consider how we can strengthen these resources for our community’s holistic health. As part of the next phase of this work, students, staff, and faculty members are invited to share their thoughts and experiences to help shape a new comprehensive Mental Health and Well-Being Strategy.
