At the Biosystems Alumni of Influence Awards Luncheon on November 15, Petkau was presented with the frame of the nomination citation and a photograph of him. The frame will hang alongside past winners on the Champion of Engineering Wall in EITC.

Ferguson is an associate professor in mechanical engineering, the NSERC / Magellan Aerospace Industrial Research Chair in Satellite Engineering at UM, and the director of STARLab, a suite of projects based in the Price Faculty of Engineering and where he is telling me about his work.

UM researcher Dr. Zahra Moussavi announced as Canada Research Chair in Biomedical Engineering, Tier 1.

The Biosystems Engineering Alumni of Influence Awards recognize those who graduated in both the undergraduate and graduate programs.

The scholarships being established will support individuals that identify as female and who are studying civil engineering full-time at the University of Manitoba’s Price Faculty of Engineering.

The RivGen device was fabricated by Stace in Quebec, then shipped to Manitoba where the device was re-assembled near the Canadian Hydrokinetic Turbine Test Centre.

We invite members of our community to nominate women in engineering who have contributed greatly to the engineering profession and who model the best of engineering to others, to appear as one of the six feature profiles on the Celebrating Women in Engineering Wall inside EITC.

The team designed a grocery bag holder to assist people who use a wheelchair to be able to travel with more bags and more independence.
