Homecoming is back! This time-honoured UM tradition brings everyone together to celebrate what it means to be part of the University of Manitoba community.

This year, we’re thrilled to be offering a mix of virtual and in-person programming from Sep 22-25, with something for everyone. Whether you’re alumni, students, faculty and staff, or friends, join us for this four-day celebration featuring more than 20 university, faculty and college events.

Some of this year’s highlights include:

Homecoming Concert
A Homecoming mainstay! Featuring performances by students and faculty of the Desautels Faculty of Music. The first 100 Winnipeg-based UM community members to register will receive imperial cookies and tea from UM alumna-owned High Tea Bakery. VIRTUAL EVENT

Homecoming Trivia Night
Get ready to answer questions about UM, pop culture, geography, and general knowledge with a chance to win great prizes. VIRTUAL EVENT

Indigenous Homecoming: “Home is where your people are”
Join Catherine Cook, Vice-President (Indigenous) in conversation with Indigenous filmmaker and alumna Sonya Ballantyne [BA(Hons.]/08]. VIRTUAL EVENT

From Pandemic to Endemic: What does the future hold?
Join UM President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Michael Benarroch as he speaks with local thought-leaders on what it will look like when COVID-19 becomes endemic. Panellists include UM alumni:   

  • Jo Ann Unger [MA/04, PhD/12] – Clinical Psychologist and President, Manitoba Psychological Society 
  • Joss Reimer [MD/08, MPH/13] – Medical Lead for Manitoba’s Vaccine Implementation Task Force & Medical Director, Population and Public Health, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority
