Marina Costa Fujishima, a PhD candidate in immunology in the Max Rady College of Medicine, took home three prestigious awards at the Canadian Student Health Research Forum, a national event held this past summer at UM.

A new high-tech “smart suite” model apartment, developed by the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, opened Sept. 14 at Health Sciences Centre.

On September 1, Dr. Peter Nickerson, a prominent physician and researcher in the field of organ transplantation, began his role as dean of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences and dean of the Max Rady College of Medicine, as well as vice-provost (health sciences). We chatted with Dr. Nickerson about his plans for the future, his first job in health care, and his travel through northern Canada.

The respiratory therapy program at the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences will see a 20 per cent increase in its class size starting this fall to address a projected shortage of respiratory therapists in Manitoba.

Fifteen students in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences received stethoscopes on Friday, September 2 as part of  an inaugural ceremony signaling the beginning of their Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS.)

The Helen Glass Research Symposium, presented by the College of Nursing, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, returns September 26 and 28 in a virtual setting, with a focus on mixed methods research.

A Winnipeg dentist who has been a local, provincial and national leader in the profession will be honoured during UM Homecoming with the Alumni of Distinction Award from the UM Dental Alumni Association (UMDAA).
