Khajehpour is an associate professor in the department of chemistry who is not only an established and accomplished researcher but also an advocate for engaging students and faculty in creating a community for biophysical research in Canada. One his contributions cited in the award is his

June is National Indigenous History Month, and while at the Faculty of Science, we celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of the Indigenous community on campus throughout the year, we wanted to take this time to listen to the journey, the proud moments, the challenges and the resilience of the Indigenous faculty, students and staff.

June 28, 2024 — 
The Solar Hydrogen Activity Research Kit (SHArK North!) Solar Energy Outreach Program is an educationally inclusive outreach program run in partnership with multiple Winnipeg-area high schools. The program introduces Grade 11 and 12 students to materials science and renewable energy research, via the challenge of sustainably powering our planet. Specifically, the program provides participants with experience in hands-on research in combinatorial solid-state mixed metal oxide construction and electrochemical evaluation of light-driven water oxidation.

June 18, 2024 — 
As you might already know, Machray Hall is undergoing a huge redevelopment. This has recently resulted in surplus furniture at the Faculty of Science which is now available to all other UM faculties and units. Let's help to avoid them ending up in the landfill.

June 11, 2024 — 
STRR holds a special meaning since the nomination is made by an outstanding graduate student. They chose two educators who have significantly influenced their learning journey—one from Kindergarten to Grade 12 years and another from their time at the University of Manitoba.

On May 21, over 30 faculty were recognized for exceptional teaching, research and service at a reception held at Marshall McLuhan in UMSU University Centre.

This Spring Convocation the University of Manitoba celebrates the achievements of over 4300 graduands and recognizes the distinguished achievements of five honorary degree recipients who have made our province and country better.

May 24, 2024 — 
The Asian communities at the Faculty of Science include brilliant people from students in labs to instructors passionately teaching in classes, professors conducting ground-breaking research, and support staff who make our departments and the Faculty an extraordinary environment. With May being the Asian Heritage Month, we decided to shine the light on the contributions of the Asian communities at the Faculty and celebrate their presence.

May 14, 2024 — 
On Manitoba Day, May 12, the Province of Manitoba announced that 12 highly-accomplished Manitobans will be invested in the Order of Manitoba, the province’s highest honour.

May 7, 2024 — 
To carry on his wife’s legacy of helping students, UM alum and retiree decided to make a planned gift to UM to fund a scholarship in her name.
