Strike continues during conciliation process

November 6, 2016 —

Negotiating teams for the University of Manitoba and the University of Manitoba Faculty Association (UMFA) met on November 6, at which time the University presented a comprehensive settlement proposal for UMFA’s consideration. UMFA indicated that it is reviewing the proposal and will respond on November 7. The parties agreed to restrict further comment as the conciliation process continues. The University remains hopeful that a successful resolution can be reached as soon as possible, enabling students to return to their full academic schedule.

UMFA remains on strike and students should continue to check the official list of continuing class schedule regularly. Updated strike information, including FAQs, can be found at umanitoba.ca/strikeinfo.
