Sign up for online services with Great-West Life and Manitoba Blue Cross

Ensure prompt delivery of claim payments in case of service disruption by Canada Post

In the event of a service disruption by Canada Post, U of M faculty and staff can access their Great-West Life and Manitoba Blue Cross benefits online. To sign up for online services and ensure prompt delivery of claim payments, follow the instructions below.


Great-West Life: Supplementary Health and Health Care Spending Account benefits

Electronic services for your supplementary health and health care spending account benefits are available by signing up for GroupNet for Plan Members.  You will need the plan number (20778) and your member ID, which are found on your Great-West Life ID card.

  1. Go to Great-West Life
  2. Click GroupNet for Plan Members on the left hand side on the page
  3. Select Register Now
  4. To sign up for direct deposit, click the Your Profile tab from the menu bar


Manitoba Blue Cross: Dental benefits

Electronic services for your dental benefits are available by signing up for mybluecross.  You will need the client number (7426) and your certificate number, which are found on your Manitoba Blue Cross ID card.

  1. Go to Manitoba Blue Cross
  2. Click Register at the top right corner of the page
  3. Select Create an account and register for a Member account
  4. To sign up for direct deposit, choose My Account from the sidebar

The online services are secure and quick, with the capability of tracking all coverage balances for members plus dependents at any time. Members can have claim payments deposited directly into their bank accounts.
