March 18, 2020 —  A Rady Faculty of Health Sciences research team was awarded $1.6 million dollars from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for a multipronged project focused on rheumatoid arthritis in First Nations people that will include a clinical trial to see whether the combination of turmeric, omega-3 and vitamin D can reduce the risk of the autoimmune disease

March 18, 2020 —  A number of phishing and online scams surfacing seek to capitalize on the public concern surrounding the Coronavirus-COVID-19. Scammers often take advantage of health scares and this pandemic has spawned dozens of such campaigns, scaring recipients into clicking on harmful links or attachments in emails, text messages and social media posts.

PhD student Amanda Fowler-Woods Community Health Sciences and associate professor Dr. Melinda Fowler-Woods were both recipients in student and faculty categories respectively.
