Opportunity awaits: Career Month kicks off January 7
The University of Manitoba hosts its second annual Career Month, featuring free career planning activities and networking opportunities for U of M students. The month-long event starts on Wednesday, January 7 with a kickoff from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Students are encouraged to pre-register for any of the 20 sessions and are invited to stay for free coffee and snacks.
All of the Career Month sessions are organized by the career services office within Student Affairs. The professional career consultants can help students form structured career planning and provide job search guidance in sessions ranging from resume building, writing workshops, and even self-assessment. The main event during Career Month is the Career Fair on January 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the second floor of University Centre. Nearly 100 potential employers will be looking for candidates with specific experience and skills. It’s a great time for students to speak and network with employers, and to explore future opportunities such as summer placements and jobs after graduation.
