UN Sustainable Development Goals: Helping Guide the World’s Largest Lesson

The World’s Largest Lesson introduces the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to youth around the world and unites them in action. The SDGs target the challenges people face around the world and encourage everyone to take action and strive to make our planet a better place. Starting Sept. 24, the University of Manitoba encourages you to start your journey to raise awareness about the 17 Global Goals through a engaging Instagram contest!

Commuter Challenge: Tips for Success

This week, commuters across Canada are signing up for Commuter Challenge 2018, a week-long event encouraging businesses, organizations, and individuals to ditch the car and choose more sustainable commuting options. The University of Manitoba is encouraging all staff, faculty, and students to participate this year. If you haven’t registered yet, there are a bunch of reasons to consider participating! All you have to do is consider biking, walking, bussing, or carpooling the week of June 3-9, logging your commute, and you will be entered to win some super awesome prizes!

Give & Go Residence Move Out

May 3, 2018 — 
Give your old items to someone in need and go enjoy your summer! That is what student residence were told once the winter term exams wrapped up. The Give & Go campaign is a partnership between the Office of Sustainability and Residence Life, in efforts of reducing waste during the busy mid-April residence move out. Throughout the two-week move out window, students were able to donate more than 4,000 pounds of items that potentially would have ended up in landfill.
