In Memoriam: Dr. Pete Hudson

May 15, 2023 — 
The Faculty of Social Work is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pete Hudson, former dean, director and professor. In 1983, Hudson was the director in the School of Social Work and became the first dean when the School became a Faculty in 1989. While at the Faculty, Hudson was a strong community and social policy advocate, specializing in child welfare and working with Indigenous youth.

Social Work implements new Bachelor of Social Work Program starting this Fall

January 23, 2023 — 
The Faculty of Social Work is excited to announce a new curriculum for the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program. After two years of preparation and consultation with community members, students, faculty members, and instructors, the revised curriculum was approved by UM Senate in April 2022 and is set to be implemented over the next two years starting this Fall.
