Social Work welcomes visiting scholars from Taiwan and China

The Faculty of Social Work would like to invite all to a Lunch ’n’ Learn event with our visiting social work scholars from Taiwan and China.

Presentations by:

Dr. Hiu Ha Chong,
Department of Indigenous Affairs & Development National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan
Specializing in Indigenous social work and Indigenous child protection

Dr. Zhihong Yue,
School of Sociology, Wuhan University, China
Specializing in youth mental health

The scholars will present their research and practice in Indigenous child protection in Taiwan and school refusal behaviour among youth in China.

Following the presentations, there will be a Q & A session and discussion on potential international collaboration opportunities based on shared interests.

A light lunch, snacks, and coffee will be provided.

Nominate an outstanding social worker, social activist or social work organization

The Faculty of Social Work is now accepting nominations for the Helen Mann 50th Anniversary Award. The award recognizes a person or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the social work profession and/or to the field of social work in Manitoba. Every year, the award is presented to the recipient(s) during the Faculty of Social Work’s Homecoming celebration in September. Nominations are considered by the Faculty of Social Work Homecoming Committee.
