Moot News: Team Manitoba takes 3rd place in national 2021 Sopinka Cup

March 27, 2021 — 
Congratulations to the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law Team of Amber Harms and Kyla Kavanagh who took third place in the Sopinka Cup March 19 – 20. The national advocacy competition faces off the top two teams from each of the four regional competitions from east to west. Robson Hall students are no strangers to visiting Ottawa for the Sopinka and to competing amongst the top eight advocacy teams in Canada. Even though this year had to be virtual, they still made it “there”.

Asper student wins UM wide co-op award 

March 26, 2021 — 
Fourth-year Asper student, Aimy Johnson, has been awarded the 2020 UM Co-op Champion Award. In 2020, Johnson worked as a marketing intern at Innovair Group. She was involved in website development, planned new products and services, managed the company’s social media, and was a member of the corporate Pandemic Response Team, Safety Committee, and Wellness Team. Johnson also helped launch Innovair’s marketing campaign, Connections.

Asper-Science Case team places first at Munich Re Cup 

March 24, 2021 — 
On March 12, UM students added another case competition win by placing first at the Munich Re Cup, an actuarial business case competition open to students in the Canada and United States. The competition provides a chance for students to develop and apply their analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills to real-world business problems.
