October 10, 2024 — Arriving in Canada for the first time is a scary feeling for many international students, including St John's resident Rei Shibue. The Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth, and Resources student studying for his master's in microbiology felt isolated when he arrived in Canada. He did not know what to expect but was excited to get started. "When I first arrived in Canada, I felt alone. I didn't have any friends or know where to go on campus; I was just trying to figure out my way."

October 9, 2024 — Access to Justice Week brings together stakeholders in the legal community to develop meaningful, public-centred solutions that advance systemic change in the justice system. This week is an opportunity to learn about new initiatives, connect with diverse partners and explore critical access to justice issues from different perspectives. The theme for Manitoba's fourth annual Access to Justice Week is Increasing Impact: Collaboration, Change, and Capacity Building. Together, the Faculty of Law, the Law Society of Manitoba, and the Manitoba Bar Association will offer four free, engaging virtual events open to the public.
