Graduate nursing students partake in Reconcili-action workshop
October 3, 2022 —
On Sept. 6 and 7, graduate nursing students participated in Reconcili-action Begins with Education: Turtle Island Project Experiential Exercise for Graduate Nursing Students. The workshop took students through the history between Indigenous Peoples and settlers, beginning before European settlers came to Turtle Island to present-day reconciliation efforts.

Every Child Matters

On September 29, hundreds of Rady Faculty of Health Sciences students, staff and faculty will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Bannatyne and Fort Gary campuses honouring residential school survivors, acknowledging systemic racism in the health care system and the important role health-care professionals play in providing equitable mental, physical and emotional health care to every patient.

UM grad students receive significant CIHR research awards

Three University of Manitoba graduate students, including two from the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, were among 255 across Canada to receive doctoral research awards from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) in April. Each student received $105,000 over three years for their projects.
