October 9, 2024 — 
At the Rod Senft Family Business Conference, success is measured less in individual achievement and more in the communities of support, shared missions, value systems, collective contributions, and connections established in the family and beyond. An annual event that brings together industry and academic expertise, the 2024 Rod Senft Family Business Conference took place on Wednesday, September 25, attended by leaders in the Manitoba family business ecosystem and presented by the Asper School of Business in partnership with the Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship.

September 17, 2024 — 
Since 2018, Suzanne Gagnon has served Canada Life Chair of Leadership Education and director of the James W. Burns Leadership Institute, UM’s centre for leadership knowledge and education, housed at the Asper School of Business. In July 2024, Gagnon's role as Canada Life Chair in Leadership Education was unanimously renewed. 

September 13, 2024 — 
Instructor and newly appointed director of Indigenous business relations, Katherine Davis [MBA/20] has spent the last 10 years working in cross-cultural settings building relationships with First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities. She is the first Métis faculty member at the Asper School of Business as well as an alum of the Asper MBA and President’s Student Leadership Program.

September 11, 2024 — 
Associate professor of business administration and newly appointed director of EDI, Jieying Chen has conducted and published research on topics such as cross-cultural interactions, mindfulness, judgment and decision making, and strategic human resource management. She is currently conducting a project on immigrant adaptation, and some of her recent research examines factors that affect individuals’ adaptation in a new environment and gender issues in the workplace.

September 9, 2024 — 
Associate professor of supply chain management and newly appointed director of sustainability, Minelle E. Silva pursues research that mainly concerns supply chain sustainability and inter-organizational relationships. He is passionate about social and environmental justice and develops academic work that sheds light on problems in supply chains. Silva was appointed director of sustainability at the Asper School of Business effective July 1, 2024.

July 10, 2024 — 
The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International has officially announced the University of Manitoba’s and Asper School of Business’ continued accreditation.

July 3, 2024 — 
Ranging from comparative studies of Canada’s and Ukraine’s access to sustainable aviation fuel and regulatory developments in transportation, to the promise of airships in supply chain and transportation, three Asper faculty members presented six papers at the annual Canadian Transport Research Forum (CTRF) this May. Professor and Director of the UM Transport Institute Barry Prentice also won the annual Bison Transport Debate.

April 17, 2024 — 
Asper associate professor and The Associates Fellow in Finance, Chi Liao is an expert in behavioural finance, engaging with datasets and psychology, sociology and other social sciences to tackle these questions. She seeks to understand how broader social phenomena affect individual behaviours in financial decision-making and ultimately financial outcomes.

January 24, 2024 — 
The Asper School of Business has appointed its latest distinguished professorships to two faculty members. Dr. Paul D. Larson now holds the CN Professorship in Supply Chain Management, and Dr. Gady Jacoby now holds the Bank of Montreal (BMO) Professorship in Finance.

December 11, 2023 — 
Nathan Greidanus has been named the Associates Fellow in Entrepreneurship, Wenxi Pu has been named the Associates Fellow in Innovation, and Raj Manchanda has been named the Associates Fellow in Sustainability. The new Associates Fellows were honoured at a celebration in the Drake Centre last week.
