Provide your feedback to help shape the UM student experience

Check your UM email, complete the NSSE survey for a chance to win.

March 13, 2023 —

Help shape the future of student life and experience on campus. Join other first- and final-year undergraduate students who have already taken part in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). The triennial survey helps the University of Manitoba plan and institute new initiatives for students to make their experience even more positive. Information gathered in the 2020 roll out helped to bring about a number of outcomes that students will benefit from for years to come. Students have until May 14 to participate.

The 15 largest Canadian research-intensive universities also participate in the survey allowing UM to measure its responses against those of similar-sized institutions. The large scale of the survey enables UM to connect with counterparts across the country to share best practices and discuss trends emanating from the survey results.

As an added bonus, all students who complete the survey by April 3, will have the chance to win one $1000 cash prize, one of three $250 prizes, one of five $100 UM Bookstore gift certificates, and one of ten $50 UM Bookstore gift certificates. Students just have to complete the survey and they will be automatically entered into the draw.

How to complete the survey

Eligible students are encouraged to check their myumanitoba email account for a survey link sent directly from NSSE.  For students who did not receive communication from NSSE, an email was sent from Laurie Schnarr, Vice-Provost (Students) on Friday, March 10, providing the following instructions on how to complete the survey:

  1. Visit the NSSE website
  2. Click “don’t know your login ID”
  3. Complete the one-step verification process to log in

All eligible students should complete the survey for a chance to win one of the prizes listed above.
