New Waste Reduction and Management Plan in development : Network News

November 2, 2020 —  The University of Manitoba is committed to operating an efficient campus that is continually working to be more sustainable. As part of the Sustainability Strategy 2019-2023, the Office of Sustainability is developing a Waste Reduction & Management Plan (WRMP), which will help UM work toward a zero-waste system. UM community invited to participate in waste reduction and management survey.

Fifteenth Annual Robson Hall Negotiation Competition a Success : Network News

October 30, 2020 —  Sixteen teams of Robson Hall students competed in the fifteenth annual Robson Hall Negotiation Competition on the evening of October 29th, 2020.  These third-year students were selected for having excelled in the Legal Negotiation course they took in their second year of law school.  The main purpose of the competition is to develop superb negotiating skills in Robson Hall graduates. All legal training and professional expertise is directed toward one key objective—solving a client’s problems. Negotiation is a primary tool for accomplishing precisely that.

Schnarr, Vice-Provost (Students): As you will have likely read in President Benarroch’s message, UM is currently in the process of collective bargaining with the University of Manitoba Faculty Association (UMFA). This weekend UMFA is putting a vote to its members regarding a potential strike. This does not mean that a strike will in fact occur. Bargaining between the two parties is continuing and we hope to reach a resolution.
