Marina Costa Fujishima, a PhD candidate in immunology in the Max Rady College of Medicine, took home three prestigious awards at the Canadian Student Health Research Forum, a national event held this past summer at UM.

A new high-tech “smart suite” model apartment, developed by the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, opened Sept. 14 at Health Sciences Centre.

On September 1, Dr. Peter Nickerson, a prominent physician and researcher in the field of organ transplantation, began his role as dean of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences and dean of the Max Rady College of Medicine, as well as vice-provost (health sciences). We chatted with Dr. Nickerson about his plans for the future, his first job in health care, and his travel through northern Canada.

The respiratory therapy program at the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences will see a 20 per cent increase in its class size starting this fall to address a projected shortage of respiratory therapists in Manitoba.
