January 31, 2023 — 
Former business leader Marcel André Desautels, one of the University of Manitoba’s most distinguished benefactors and alumni, has passed away. He was 88.

January 4, 2023 — 
The University of Manitoba is pleased to announce the following appointment and extension: Dr. Edward Jurkowski has been appointed Director, School of Art for the period of January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2027.

The DFOM will host four days of special events in conjunction with the Zita Bernstein Lieder competition.

November 22, 2022 — 
Richard is survived by daughters Jessica Burleson (Duncan Owen), Winnipeg, and Rachel Yossifon (Yossi); grandchildren Noa, Nadav, and Eliana Yossifon, Kfar Saba, Israel; ex-wife Paula (Korman) Burleson, Winnipeg; sister-in-law Jan (MacLaren) Burleson, Benson, Vermont; and loving nieces and nephews.

November 18, 2022 — 
Alan Bern is the newest Musician-In-Residence at the Desautels Faculty of Music at the University of Manitoba. Bern will work with students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the public from November 12 – 25 2022.

Recent event took place to unveil the name for the newly named Wawanesa Insurance Lounge at Taché Hall

August 16, 2022 — 
A restorative space and plant wall provide a breath of fresh air at the Fort Garry campus! With help from the Success Through Wellness grant, hosted by Human Resources and Student Affairs in 2020, the Desautels Faculty of Music in partnership with the Office of Sustainability (OOS) has built a plant wall on the fourth floor of Taché Hall.
