Another way is to always be aware of your environment. This means knowing the areas in which you might be the most vulnerable. We can apply the same concept to our devices and data.

Changes to IST open-area labs effective October 2023

The Information Services and Technology (IST) open-area computer labs are available for all students and staff. Standard software, including Microsoft 365 desktop tools, Respondus LockDown Browser, Firefox, Edge, and Chrome browsers, are installed on all lab devices. You can find a complete list of the software online at Open-area computer lab software.

JUMP is officially retiring July 25, 2023

For the past decade, the UM JUMP portal has been used as a channel for internal communications and for student and staff access to applications. IST's project team has now completed a multi-year project to move its applications and content to newer, more secure services such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.

If you are a longtime Teams user, you may have noticed a recent change in the lineup of the default tabs in a new Teams channel. When Teams was initially introduced, Teams channels, by default, came with three tabs: Posts, Files and Wiki. A Wiki is a simple note app that allows participants in a Teams channel to collaborate in a document quickly and easily.
