Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences professor Dr. Michael Eskin has been recognized for his outstanding distinction in research, scholarship, creative endeavours, professional service and teaching.

This week we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Digvir Jayas as vice-president, following the conclusion of his 13-year tenure as vice-president (research and international) (VPRI), and prior eight-year term as associate vice-president (research).

Natasha Jacobson joined the Department of Biosystems Engineering (co-located in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and the Price Faculty of Engineering) as Instructor II on July 1, 2022.

Joanne Thiessen Martens joined the Department of Soil Science as Assistant Professor in Soil Chemistry and Fertility on August 1, 2022.

Dr. Dilshan Benaragama is the Manitoba Crop Protection Chair in Weed Management, thanks to the support of grower organizations.

The new Endowment Fund will provide a pool of support aimed at worthy projects and programs consistent with the academic goals of the School of Agriculture.

Leslie Redmond joined the Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences as Assistant Professor in Food, Culture and Health on July 1, 2022.

September 12, 2022 — 
Dilshan Benaragama joined the Department of Plant Science as an Assistant Professor and industry research chair in Crop Protection (Weed Science) from May 1, 2022.

September 8, 2022 — 
Sue Clayton will be joining the School of Agriculture at the University of Manitoba as its new director on October 17.
