Thrilling Emotion: Theatre’s Latest Production Selling Out Fast!

With Fall term nearing its end, the Department of English, Theatre, Film & Media debuted their adaptation of Dion Boucicault’s “The Shaughraun”. The show, in which its name means ‘The Wanderer’, is a melodrama that follows the journey of Irishman Conn (played by Deklan Jocelyn) and his surrounding cast of characters. I had the pleasure of attending the sold-out opening night, along with 89 other attendees.

Dr. Peter Nickerson, dean of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, and the entire UM medical community are saddened by the passing of professor emerita Estelle Simons [B.Sc./65, MD/69] on Nov. 5 at age 80.

The New Buffalo Education Gathering brought 382 Indigenous high school students to UM’s Fort Garry campus, offering guidance, inspiration and a glimpse into the supports available for Indigenous learners. Led by the Indigenous Student Recruitment and Community Relations team, the event highlighted ethical recruitment, community connection and the message that “when you succeed, we succeed.”
