President’s Student Leadership Program wraps up core week of programming

The James W. Burns Leadership Institute recently welcomed a third cohort of 23 participants representing some 15 disciplines, for the core week of the President’s Student Leadership Program. Students from across the province dove into an intensive week of workshops, seminars, and group work. Participants also got the opportunity to engage with prominent and impactful community and business leaders about their own leadership journey and leading through crisis.

The Language Exchange program connects people who speak different languages but share similar interests. The partners meet each week to practice each other’s languages and learn about each other’s culture in a friendly, relaxed environment.

Reaching pregnant women via internet, airwaves increases prenatal program participation in First Nations

An online and broadcast prenatal education program significantly increased participation rates in prenatal programs and breastfeeding in three Manitoba First Nations communities, a study by University of Manitoba researchers and First Nations partners found.
