Investment in transit infrastructure opens door for sustainable engineering : Network News
July 12, 2022 — Recently, the Government of Canada, the Province and Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg announced a joint investment of more than $478 million to support the next generation of public transit infrastructure in Winniepg. Through this investment, the city will begin to transition to zero emission buses, design and build a new North Garage, improve accessibility for riders, and start design work on new rapid transit corridors.

July 11, 2022 — The Winnipeg Foundation Innovation Fund has awarded a $100,000 grant to a University of Manitoba research team aiming to improve the benefits of cognitive behavioural therapy by combining it with non-invasive brain stimulation.

Three types of phishing scams everyone needs to know : Network News
July 11, 2022 — A phishing email uses a sense of urgency to direct the victim to visit a website designed to steal the victim's account credentials. Some phishing attacks are very straight forward, for example, "Update your password now!!!" can easily be detected because they typically are not written well (poor grammar and word choice). However, some attacks are sophisticated, look like they come from a trusted contact, are well written, and lead to a site that closely resembles the spoofed website.

July 8, 2022 — Second-year master of occupational therapy students at the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences showcased their research projects at an online symposium June 22. The 2022 Critical Inquiry Research Project Symposium featured 17 presentations from 47 students with topics ranging from technology solutions for people with disabilities to addressing racism in health care education.
