November 15, 2024 —  Two incoming students were awarded Schulich Leader Scholarships upon their entry to the University of Manitoba this year. One of those students is Landon Reid from Powerview School in Powerview, Manitoba. Reid started his studies at UM this fall in the Price Faculty of Engineering.

One of those students is Gregory Petryk from Oak Park High School in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Petryk started his studies at UM this fall in the Faculty of Science.

November 15, 2024 —  Career Services, in collaboration with UM professors and researchers in various fields, is hosting Undergraduate Research Opportunities at Bannatyne Campus, a virtual information session for undergraduate students on November 28th. Students will learn essential information and can ask questions to researchers in fields such as neuroscience, cell biology, environmental epigenetics, physiology, immunology/virology, and epidemiology. In addition to answering questions and networking, you’ll learn how to find opportunities and apply for them.

November 15, 2024 —  Asper School of Business researchers successfully secured Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) grants to fund a diverse selection of projects. In 2024, six researchers secured over $390,000 in funding from SSHRC.

November 15, 2024 —  Hundreds of high school students from Manitoba descended on Bannatyne campus Nov. 6 and 7 for two annual events at the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences highlighting the health sciences programs at UM and scientific discovery. 

November 14, 2024 —  Facilities staff member Brita Hall was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. Brita is the first Special Olympics athlete to be inducted into Manitoba's Sports Hall of Fame.
