Indigenous students invited to apply for summer internships
Eight opportunities across UM; apply by April 2
Indigenous UM students are invited to apply for the Indigenous Summer Student Internship Program. Students must be full-time Indigenous U of M students, who are either graduating this spring or returning to full-time studies in the fall.
To apply by April 2, visit UM Careers and search “Indigenous Intern.” Each position will include the host department and job details.

This is the fourth year that the program is available to the university’s Indigenous students.
The internship program is an exciting opportunity for Indigenous students to access unique career-related experiences in their field of study.
“The university has a wide range of meaningful work opportunities that we want students to know about so they consider building a career at the U of M after graduation,” says Carrie Homeniuk, director, HR services.
Placements will include the Centre for Human Rights Research, Student Engagement and Success, the College of Nursing and Biosystems Engineering, to name a few areas.
This year’s internship will look a little different than in previous years due to the majority of work being completed virtually and the group development days will not be offered, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
There will be eight summer placements. The students will be hired to work 35 hours per week from May 3 to August 20.
All Indigenous students are encouraged to apply.
