U of M Anniversary Awards 2017
The University thanks faculty and staff for their contributions
The University of Manitoba anniversary awards recognize faculty and staff for their years of service. The first award is given at five years of service, with another award given each five years thereafter.
This year, 1,264 faculty and staff from Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses were recognized for their hard work, valued contributions and efforts in making the U of M an outstanding learning and working environment.
Award recipients are given the choice of a small anniversary gift or donating the equivalent monetary amount to one of nine funds. This year, award recipients donated $9,330, with the top three funds being the student food bank, United Way and Wiciwawin Emergency Bursary for Indigenous Students.
“I’m just thrilled U of M faculty and staff gave so generously,” says Lynn Bohonos, learning and development assistant, learning and organizational development, human resources.
“This speaks to their commitment to our students and larger community, and it feels good to work alongside such caring people.”
Information on the anniversary awards can be found on the human resources website.
