Prepare for Registration: Accept Your Aurora User Agreement

June 6, 2024 —

As we approach the upcoming registration period, it’s important to ensure all students have accepted the Aurora User Agreement for the year. Here are some key points and updates to keep in mind.

New Aurora

  • Users must select “Continue.”
  • Students encounter the agreement immediately when transitioning from the New Aurora launch page to a task in New Aurora and are directed to their intended page upon acceptance.

Aurora Classic

  • Users must select “Accept.”
  • Students encounter the agreement when performing an action (not just navigating tabs). Acceptance redirects them to the main Aurora Classic menu.

Aurora User Agreement

To ensure a smooth registration process, all students must accept the Aurora User Agreement annually before Fall and Winter Term registrations. Key points include:

  • Information Entry and Changes: Any changes made with your student account take effect immediately. Do not share your login credentials.
  • UM Email: All official emails, including waitlist notifications, are sent to your UM student email. Check it regularly.
  • Contact Information: Keep your phone number and mailing address current in Aurora. Some communications from UM are sent by phone or mail.
  • External Course Registrations: Inform your faculty, college, or school office if you’ve registered for courses at another institution since your last UM registration.
  • Social Insurance Number (SIN): Ensure your SIN is listed in Aurora for Canadian tax forms. Use the ‘Verify My SIN’ card if needed.
  • Rules and Regulations: By registering for classes, you agree to pay all tuition and fees and follow UM’s rules and regulations, along with those of your faculty, college, school, and/or program.

Prohibited Software: Do not use unauthorized software to automate registration processes.

Indigenous Achievement: UM is committed to the success of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students. Update your ancestry information if needed in the ‘Canadian Indigenous Self Declaration’ card.

Agreeing to these terms is required to access your Aurora account.
