Emerging scholar in law and emotions brings latest research to University of Manitoba

The Distinguished Visitors Lecture Series committee members invite the University of Manitoba academic community to a lecture on “Images of Reach, Range, and Recognition: On Emotions in the Study of Law” to be given by Assistant Professor Emily Kidd White, Osgoode Hall Law School on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in room 207 at Robson Hall.

Supreme Court of Canada Justice Michelle O’Bonsawin advises Robson Hall students to believe in themselves and work hard

“Anything is possible if you really believe and you work hard,” The Honourable Michelle O’Bonsawin, Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada told a room full of law students and professors On February 6 when she visited Robson Hall. She spent quality time answering questions and sharing lived experiences with the Faculty of Law community.

Master of Human Rights program 2024 Symposium showcases research on important topics

The Master of Human Rights program’s annual Symposium took place on Wednesday, January 25, 2024 at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. The symposium gives students enrolled in both the interdisciplinary graduate degree’s practicum and thesis streams an opportunity to present their research and share field experience gained from their respective placement sites.

Faculty of Law Director of Access to Justice wins MBA award

The Faculty of Law congratulates Natasha Brown [BEd/2001; LLB/2005] on being presented with the Manitoba Bar Association’s 2023 Access to Justice award for her contributions. Brown was presented with the award at the MBA 2024 Mid-Winter Conference awards luncheon held on January 19.

The 12th United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights, held in Geneva, Switzerland from November 26-29, 2023, brought together a diverse and global community of scholars, practitioners, consultants, community activists, UN and government officials. With the support of the Business Law Advisory Committee, Dr. Laura Reimer, Director of Program Development attended in-person for the purpose of networking and gathering information for the Faculty’s Business and Human Rights initiatives.
