More of your top questions, answered – Part 2!

September 11, 2018 —

We are tackling some of the top questions that the Registrar’s Office gets this time of year.  Check out part 1 of these FAQs!

Will paying tuition late cost you money?

Tuition for the Fall 2018 term is due October 3rd, 2018.  You do not have to pay for Fall and Winter term at the same time. You can pay tuition by debit, cash or cheque at the Cashiers Office at 102 UMSU University Centre 204-474-8222, or for electronic and other payment options, check out the Financial Services website.

What are the options for my dental coverage?

Most students are covered under the UMSU Health and Dental plan!  If you don’t need coverage, you can opt out between Sept 1-20 this year by going to the UMSU Student Care site and completing the opt-out process.  You will need to prove you have other coverage in order to opt out.

What is the international student health care cost?

Health care for international students will be covered by the University for the 2018-19 academic year.  Students will see a charge on their account, but also a payment for the same amount (they will not be required to pay for anything this year).  For more information and updates visit the health coverage site.

How do I write an off campus exam?

If you are taking an online course and are located over 2 (two) hours from the University of Manitoba, Fort Garry Campus, you will need to complete the Exam Location Declaration Tool of your online course within UMLearn.  If you have any questions about off campus exams, please contact or visit Final Examinations and Grades page for more information.
